CD-ROM DatabasesFind repair information for most cars (as far back as 1954 for some models), as well as diagrams, instructions for many maintenance procedures, and service bulletins and recalls. Log in using your complete library card number.
The Library has several CD-ROM databases, including Foundation Center Search, Foundation Center Grants for Individuals, National Geographic, Oxford English Dictionary, and the Bozeman Polk City Directory.InfoTracInfoTrac is a collection of on-line databases, available on most computers in the Library and on this website. This collection of databases offers over 6,000 magazines, online reference materials, 3,400 full text magazines and 200,000 company profiles. Databases include InfoTrac OneFile, General Reference Center Gold, Custom Newspapers, Health and Wellness Resource Center, Health Reference Center, Business and Company Resource Center, Legal Trac, Literary Databases (which includes Contemporary Authors, Contemporary Literary Criticism and Dictionary of Literary Biography), Opposing Viewpoints, and What Do I Read Next? The Testing and Education Reference database is also available here. To access InfoTrac from home use your library card number.
World Book EncyclopediaWorld Book Encyclopedia is available to Library patrons from home. In addition to the encyclopedia and dictionary, there are links to current events, Today in History, a Spanish language encyclopdia and information on monthly events. To access World Book from home use your library card bar code number.
Interlibrary Loan (ILL)Books not owned by our library may be borrowed from other libraries. The service is free, but a fee may be charged by the lending library. ILL request forms are available at the Reference Desk on the second floor or you can request material online through the Montana Library Network using WorldCat. Please call the Reference Desk at 582-2411 for the password. You will need a current Bozeman Public Library card to create a request.
HoldsBooks owned by the Library, but not available at the time of request, may be placed on hold. This can be done using your library card at any BridgerNet terminal, or from home by accessing the BridgerNet Library Catalog. You will be notified by telephone or email when the item is available.
The Reference Collection contains resource materials that do not check out. These items can be found on BridgerNet or by asking a Reference Librarian. The collection includes:Business CollectionThe Business Collection includes company directories, industry surveys and statistics, market research data, government publications, start-a-business publications, trade association listings and sample business plans. It also includes current magazines and newspapers, phone books, and zip code directories. Investment surveys include Value Line and Morningstar. Some Montana publications available in the Reference Business Collection include Montana Code Annotated, Montana Business Directory, Montana Business Quarterly and Montana Manufacturers Directory. For information on companies try ReferenceUSA online (you'll need your library bar code number).Grantwriting CollectionThe Library is a member of the Foundation Center Cooperating Collections Network and has a core collection of materials on grantwriting and funding sources located near the Reference collection. FC Search, a CD-ROM database, is located on a computer near the Information Desk.Montana Room CollectionThe Montana Room houses the Montana and local history collection. All of the material is classified as reference and may not be taken from the Library. The room may be used during regular library hours.

The Teen Corner contains young adult fiction and non-fiction, magazines, books on tape and CD, videos and DVDs, and 3 internet stations with word processing.Young Adult magazines include Mad, Powder, Seventeen, Sport, Teen, Teen People, Transworld Snowboarding, Transworld Skateboarding, Electronic Gaming Monthly, GamePro, Hot Rod, Circus and YM. Other magazines of interest to young adults are available on the adult magazine shelves downstairs.
Some popular series in the Young Adult area are Asterix, Tintin, Calvin & Hobbes, Forgotten Realms, Dragonlance, Christopher Pike, R.L. Stine, Pine Hollow, Sierra Jensen, Sweet Valley High, Love Stories, Clearwater Crossing, Hardy Boys, and Nancy Drew.Programs for Young Adults

The Children's Room offers informative and recreational books for all ages, as well as books with cassette readalongs, music cassettes, videos, books on tape, CD-ROM software and computers with learning games. Librarians are available to assist you in the library or design special tours and outreach programs for your class or group.

Special Delivery is a free library materials delivery service sponsored by the Bozeman Public Library.
Provided by volunteers, deliveries are made every two weeks, usually on Tuesdays.

The Library provides meeting room space for Library sponsored and co-sponsored programs, and for other meetings and programs of an informational, educational, cultural or civic nature. The room may not be used for sales purposes or on a continuous basis (weekly, semi-monthly or monthly meetings). The only exception is that governmental agencies may schedule the meeting room on a continuing basis only during those periods when Library staff events are not scheduled. The seating capacity in the large community room is 100 people, and the small community room holds 36 people..
No admission charge is permitted except in the form of a tuition fee for workshops and seminars.
Reservations for the meeting room are made in advance through the Information Desk (582-2427).. Confirmation must be made in advance by completing and returning the Meeting Room Application, available here or at the Circulation and Information Desks.

VideoEye LCD PowerZoom Machine
Thanks to a generous donation, the Library has purchased a VideoEye LCD PowerZoom machine, a monitor and maginfier that allows magnification of materials up to 65 times. Any item may be placed under the magnifier, which can be moved to various positions. There is also a reading platform that allows easy moving of reading materials. This is located in the listening area near the Large Print books.
VTEK Voyager Machine
Thanks to the Bozeman Lions Club, library patrons have access to a VTEK Voyager machine, a closed circuit television device which magnifies print. A book or any other print material can be placed on a viewing platform and magnified up to 40 times onto a viewing screen similar to a TV screen. People can also write a letter or fill out forms with small print. The device is located in the downstairs listening area.
ParkingThe Library has designated handicap parking spaces located on the west side of the building.
Automatic DoorThe Library has an automatic door opener on the west side of the building.
ElevatorAn elevator is available for accessing the second floor.
